Smile (10/4/2020)

Come, O wise, intelligent man.

Smile at the fool.

Come, O one who knows his way.

Smile at the one who is lost.

Since you have reached the Sultan who doesn’t need reason,

smile at the the cause as well as the effect.

If you are overwhelmed with the self,

which is nothing but an inauspicious devil,

go smile at the one who beats

as well as the one who gets beaten.

If one dead one dismisses another dead one,

smile at the one who dismisses

and at the one who is dismissed.

Consider the one who fires someone from their job.

He is only a wet dream.

Smile at the one who did the firing

and at the one who was fired.

A blind one asked something of a deaf one.

Smile at the one who asked

and smile at the one who was asked.

Someone received rank and wealth from someone.

Smile at the one who received

as well as the one who gave.

If you have money in your hand, be silent.

Smile at the one who talks about the past

and smile at the words which were spoken.
